The members are the backbone of this Local Union and the secret to it's success. Without the involvement of membership volunteers, many of the issues we are involved in would not be addressed.

Charity opportunities! 

• We help Let's Help with projects upon request.

• United Way volunteers in the workplace are essential to the success of this program.

Opportunities for your participation:

• Hospitality room representation of our Union at the Democrat and Republican State conventions. This gives us a chance to talk one on one with our Governmental elected officials about issues that are important to the working members.

• Lobbying for workers issues at the Statehouse.

• Serving on Governmental Boards.

• Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education (D.R.I.V.E.) This is the Teamsters volunteer political action fund. DRIVE is not only a fund for candidate support, but it is also the catalyst for Election opportunities, such as:

1. Political Sign making- the physical painting and creation of Candidates signs

2. Political Sign Locations - helping to find and verify sign placement locations 

3. Political Signs placing - actual placing of the signs in approved locations and retrieving them following the elections 

4. Phone banking -calling to urge support of candidates

5. Candidate Recruitment - the search among Union members for candidates for School Boards and other positions 

Other membership participation opportunities are:

1. Community awareness and parade committee 

2. Help maintain and operate our 1953 GMC Parade vehicle 

3. Design and preparation of parade trailer floats

4. Participation in School to Work career fairs

5. Manpower assistance to various Community organizations

6. Meeting potential members
