Bud Moore's family, Teamsters, and friends from all over the United States helped establish the LaRue A. "Bud" Moore Scholarship Fund for Teamsters Local Union #696 members. The Scholarship Fund is administered by the Topeka Foundation, enabling contributors to receive tax considerations of a 501 3(c).
In an effort to bring a stronger voice, a higher profile, and a stronger Labor movement to Northeast Kansas, Teamsters Local 696 has joined with the Plumbers and Pipefitters #441, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #304, the Kansas National Education Association, the Carpenters District Council, Painters and Floorlayers Local Union, Iron Workers Local 10, and Laborers Local #142 in forming Kansas United.

Tyler Wright, son of Chris and Karla Savoie, Topeka, is this years scholarship selectee. Chris is a Teamster and 22.3 Inside employee for United Parcel Service fin the Topeka Kansas Center.
